Ojai Valley
The Ojai Valley is in the center of Ventura County around 85 miles northeast of Los Angeles. The pleasant climate plus picturesque hills and citrus orchards helped give the area a reputation as a place for healing. The discovery of hot springs in the nearby mountains only added to that reputation. Well-to-do families were drawn to the valley as early as the 1870s, and many of them built retreats in the area for long-term stays. Subsequent waves of development have come and gone, but Ojai never lost its charm and beauty.
