From his days as a kid in Pittsburgh, Tom Jarrett dreamed of working on motion pictures. His big shot came with a newsreel job. In no time, Jarrett was leading his own crew capturing news for the folks back home in far flung parts of Europe, the Near East and Africa. The war got in the way, but after shipping back to the United States he talked himself onto a studio lot and walked away with a contract as a rookie screenwriter. Jarrett had it made, until a friend from the war turned up dead on his doorstep.
